Vedica Bhasin is a contemporary abstract expressionist. Raised in New Delhi, India, and based in New York for the past decade, she works primarily with a palette knife and oil on canvas to explore the bridge between internal and external chaos within the lived experience.
Art has long served as her platform of expression amidst rigorous training in the healthcare profession. Having observed people in their most vulnerable states, her pieces reflect the dynamism of the human experience. Much like in medicine, lighting, proximity, and perspective collectively shape the viewer’s relationship to each work.
Over the past two decades, Vedica has dedicated herself to studying how color functions as a universal yet deeply personal language. Living between East and West, she has observed how people draw strength, comfort, or delight from different spectrums of color. Outside of her art practice, Vedica is a nutritionist and medical student who weaves a humanistic lens through both fields.
